  • It’s taken me a while to build my kit. I mainly Charlotte Tilbury which is very bridal! It’s also very sensitive skin friendly, cruelty free and 95% Vegan.

I use only the best products for my clients. Brands such as: Charlotte Tilbury, Makeup by Mario, Fenty Beauty, Hourglass, Rare Beauty and more!
I am fully insured and take client hygiene very seriously. All products and brushes are sanitised fully.

  • I will ask you to complete a booking form. This is very important in order for me to have all of your key information. I also ask if you have any allergies. I am not responsible for any allergic reactions. Please make me aware of any allergies, skin conditions or health issues that may affect makeup application in the booking form. I will also also ask verbally at your appointment. If you happen to be running late please let me know. These things happen however if it’s longer than a certain time this could mean your appointment can’t go ahead and the deposit will be lost as a cancellation fee.

  • We can discuss location when booking. I travel anywhere and can even do destination weddings! Travel isn’t an issue however for peak wedding season I set a 1.5 hour travel limit each way. if you would like me to travel further afield or aren’t sure how far away I am to you then please just ask.

Trials

I always advise you to have a trial before your big day. This is to ensure that you are 100% happy with the final makeup look and to check for allergies. This is done at Beauty Matters where I’m based or I can come to you. We will sit down together, discuss your ideas, vision for your makeup and the theme of your wedding.

Once you are happy with your final look I will document all of the products I used and photograph your makeup so that you can refer to it whenever you wish. I recommend taking as many photos as you can after your trial at home in different lights. Please let me know about any tweaks or changes that you require.

Glowing Wedding Makeup
  • You can have your trial whenever you like. I normally recommend 3-6 months prior to your wedding day. Makeup trials take longer than the time on the wedding day as this is your time to try a couple of different options and to check you’re happy with every detail. Trials can take anything from 1-2 hours just for the bride so please give enough time. I do also get some brides requesting a trial 2 years before the wedding and then another trial closer to the big day.

  • Yes, trials for the bride are vital for us to create your perfect bridal makeup look. Trials for bridesmaids, Mother of and flower girls are not essential. However, I do offer that service as most of my clients like someone in the Bridal party to have one too. This is especially the case when someone hasn’t worn makeup before or has specific requirements. It’s important to check that all the products agree with your skin and reduces the risk of reactions on your wedding day.

  • For your trial please get photos of looks that you like so that we can discuss on your trial. If you plan on getting a tan or lashes for your wedding it’s a good idea to do this for your trial. This way it gives you an idea of how it will look on your wedding day. For facial waxing I recommend doing this 4-7 days before your trial and wedding day.

If the trial is taking place at your house, please have a table and a chair ready. On the trial itself please be as honest as you can so we can achieve your perfect look! I won’t be offended if you want to change anything.

I recommend wearing a white top and try to style your hair a similar way to how you want it for the wedding day. This will help give you an overall idea of what you’ll look like for the wedding.

I’ll do full skincare prep too.

  • A trial can take up to two hours for just the bride.

Bride plus one other for trial is approximately 3 hours.

  • I advise you to have some photos ready on your phone of inspiration and makeup ideas that you like.

  • Yes! If you have any special requests for example if you’re Vegan then please let me know and I can do a full Vegan makeup look for you.

How to come to your Makeup trial

It can be a good idea to come to the trial with your usual makeup on so that I have an idea of how you like it. You can also come along makeup free and show me some photos for inspiration of the makeup look that you usually do.

When coming to me for a makeup appointment I work closely with you to design your perfect makeup look. I want you to look your very best and still feel like you. Please be as open and honest as possible. This helps me hugely. If there is something you want to test out but then decide you don’t like it we can easily change things. I want you to be as happy as possible. Tell me what you love and don’t love so that we can create your perfect makeup look.

I will ask you a lot of questions as this is my way of finding out how you like each area of your face. Don’t worry if you don’t always know the answers, it’s just my way of getting to know you and your preferences.

Timelines

On your wedding morning I aim to make it as stress free and relaxing as possible.

Occasionally things happen which aren’t in my control. I do my best to go above and beyond in case something happens on your morning to make sure it’s as perfect for you as possible. I will make a time plan of your wedding morning. This will be personalised to you, your ceremony time and venue requirements. I roughly plan to have all hair and makeup done an hour before your ceremony time. You then have the last hour to get into your dress, have photos taken, dress reveal and meet the registrar.

The last hour goes super fast, so it’s better to have that full hour than be rushing around getting hot and stressed. When we plan your timings I suggest the Bride is last or 2nd to last in the running order. This way the makeup is as fresh as possible. It’s also helpful for me to know the names of everyone having makeup before the day so that it runs smoothly.

If you don’t have access to your venue/room until a certain time please make me aware of this so that we don’t have any delays or issues. In some situations we may need to start doing makeup from alternative location then move to the venue.

I provide a top up kit for all brides which contains powder, lash glue and lipstick. If you’d like to have the full size products to top up then please make sure you bring these with you on your wedding day. I advise Bridal party members to bring a lipstick to top up with and drink out of straws where possible.

  • I recommend to start looking for your makeup artist as soon as your wedding date is confirmed and booked with the venue. This then gives plenty of notice to ask around for quotes and to book in with your preferred makeup artist. Bookings are currently up to 2 years in advance.

  • Please allow up to one hour for the bride and 45mins per person for makeup application. This way your wedding morning will run smoothly without any stress. I recommend having everyone ready 1 hour before your ceremony starts. This leaves time for you and your Bridal party to get dressed and have photos taken with your photographer.

  • Your makeup should last all day. However, your lipstick will eventually wear off. I provide my Brides with a top up kit. This includes powder on a powder puff to keep the shine and oil controlled, mini lash glue and a bit of lipstick in a mini lipstick tube. Some Brides prefer to buy the lipstick and powder themselves to keep on the day and for afterwards. If you have oily skin I recommend blotting sheets too. Please tell everyone having makeup to bring a lipstick to touch up with.

  • Invest in a good skincare routine. Find out what your skin type is and find products to suit. I also recommend not over loading your skin with too much skincare. It’s better to stick with the basics such as cleanser, toner, and a good moisturiser. Stop using baby wipes and cleanse your face morning and night. Apply a face mask/exfoliate your skin once a week. Please don’t try new products just before your wedding as it could irritate or break you out. I recommend starting your skincare routine 3-6 months prior to the wedding. If you would like any product advice please ask me at the trial. I can send over recommendations of what’s best to use to prepare your skin for the wedding.

I highly recommend having regular facials at Beauty Matters.

  • Yes, by myself the most I can do is groups of 7. However, this does depend on the time of your wedding. If you have a larger group I have an assistant to help me on your day.

I only do makeup but I recommend some excellent Bridal Hairstylists and other wedding suppliers when I can. Please ask for recommendations, I’m always happy to help.

  • Destination wedding package to be discussed. A personalised quote will be provided.

  • If you have a booking with me and have trouble with stairs or accessibility then please make me aware to me so I can adapt and make your visit as comfortable as possible. This could also mean me coming to you if that’s better for you. If you have anything else you think I should be made aware of then please let me know in a non judgemental and safe environment.
