Tips and tricks for your wedding day
(Not just makeup related!)
Here are some of my wedding top tips!
Have a lipstick and powder to top up with (or use one of my top up kits).
Spray perfume on your veil so when you’re walking down the aisle it follows you and everyone can smell it for longer.
Buy bride slippers to wear while you’re getting ready and then you can also wear them in the evening when you want to take your heels off for the dance floor.
Wear an oversized or button up top to get ready in, in the morning of your wedding so you can easily get it over your head without ruining the hair and makeup look. (Pyjamas with buttons I highly recommend).
Take white chalk with you just incase you get anything on your wedding dress. White chalk is perfect to get it out your dress and cover it up.
Walk slower than you ever imagined down the isle.
Hold your flower bouquet facing out of your belly button.
Hold the kiss slightly longer than you normally would.
Stop and kiss half way down the aisle when walking back out (these make the best photos!).
Steam all dresses the night before.
Remember to cut all tags of dresses and stickers of shoes.

Before you get into your dresses, dry the flowers. No wet patches!
I recommend giving each bridesmaid a job: someone to dry flowers, another to steam dresses and be in charge of telling everyone when to get into dresses. Another bridesmaid to be in control of the music and to look after your bag and keep you hydrated and full. Then your maid of honour could be in charge of your phone to check if suppliers need to contact you for anything and check the days running to schedule.
Have a playlist ready for getting ready on the morning.
To help your Makeup Artist and Hairstylist have a table and chair ready for them. Makeup Artist’s need good lighting and plug sockets close to the Hairdresser.
Get your seamstress to save a bit of fabric from your dress for you to keep to make into scrunchies
Wanting to have a loved one with you on your wedding day or have a personal touch to your dress? You might want to save a bit of your loved ones fabric from their clothing to stitch into the under lining of your dress.
Give each bridesmaid a number so they know what time they’re each having hair and makeup this will help your morning run smoothly.
Pack a mini sewing kit - you never know what could happen!
Pack straws to drink out of while everyone’s having hair and makeup done.
Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water while getting ready as you’ll forget during the wedding.
Make sure you eat plenty of food in the morning as the wedding breakfast can tend to be in the late afternoon.

Carry Q tips in your flower bouquets to catch tears.
The night before get everything ready for your photographer’s shots - your perfume, shoes, jewellery and any special touches.
If doing gifts on the morning try to plan this in before the Bride has her makeup done.
Remove all socks, bras and hair bobbles to prevent marks or indents.
Why not write your soon to be Husband/Wife a letter to read that morning to each other?
Try to keep the bridal suite as tidy as possible for the photographer.
Get your Makeup Artist to add body oil/shimmer to shoulders and décolletage, it will bring everything together.
If you’re wanting to include a “something blue” why not pick a person and ask them to wear a blue dress/suit?
Make sure all Bridal party members hair and makeup is complete an hour before your ceremony time. That last hour goes super fast! In that last hour you’ll be busy getting into your dress, having photos and meeting the registrar.
Remember to live in the moment and just enjoy every minute of the day!
